The Baloch Human Rights Organization (BHRO) and the Human Rights Council of Balochistan (HRCB) have decided in favour of a merger after prolonged deliberations.
The decision was reached in a joint meeting on February 9. The united group will henceforth be called the Human Rights Council of Balochistan (HRCB).
Both the groups have been working together for quite some time, helping each other in monitoring, investigating, documenting and reporting the human rights situation in Balochistan. The merger will hopefully improve the performance and productivity.
A temporary cabinet was formed in the February 9 meeting to carry on with the current activities for three to six months. A Governing Body will be formed during this transitional period which will then elect the group’s cabinet.
Members of the temporary cabinet are:
1. Bibi Gul, chairperson
2. Taj Baloch, coordinator
3. Lateef Johar, deputy coordinator
4. Abdullah Abbas, Information Secretary and Spokesperson
5. Abdul Malik,  administrator
