While a “pro-independence” group has claimed responsibility for attacking a military post and setting up a roadblock in Kech district.
Meanwhile, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for an attack on a Pakistani military post in Gowarkop, Kech, and a roadblock operation in Buleda Minaz.
In a media statement, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said BLF fighters used a sniper rifle to target a Pakistani soldier stationed at a military checkpoint in Doki, Gowarkop, at 6 PM on Wednesday, February 5, resulting in the soldier’s death.
Following the attack, Pakistani forces allegedly responded with indiscriminate gunfire and mortar shelling, but BLF fighters retreated without casualties, according to the group.
In a second operation, BLF fighters set up a roadblock in Buleda’s Minaz area, patrolling the area for several hours and reportedly engaging with locals.
“BLF stands as a people’s force. We believe in the power of the people and are committed to expelling the occupying state from Baloch land through public support and strength,” the statement read.
The spokesperson described the roadblock as a symbol of resistance, stating, “This action reflects our deep love for the homeland and demonstrates the Sarmachars’ strength.”
Concluding the statement, Major Gwahram Baloch reaffirmed the group’s commitment to continued attacks, saying, “The BLF accepts full responsibility for both attack and reaffirms its commitment to continuing attacks against the occupying forces until the liberation of Balochistan is achieved.
