London: A delegation from the Baloch National Movement (BNM) has submitted a petition at the residence of the British Prime Minister, 10 Downing Street, demanding justice for Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch, who has been forcibly missing for 14 years. The delegation fervently urged the British PM, to raise the issue of enforced disappearances of Balochistan with the government of Pakistan.

In the petition, the Baloch National Movement highlighted the distressing cases of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, particularly emphasising the unresolved disappearance of Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch. Dr. Baloch, a prominent leader of the Baloch National Movement and a highly respected physician and political figure, was abducted by personnel of the Frontier Corps on June 28, 2009, from the hospital accommodations in Haurnaach, district Khuzdar, Balochistan. Despite tireless efforts by his family, the filing of a case with the police, and a petition submitted to the Balochistan High Court, no progress has been made in his case.

The disappearances in Balochistan are not isolated incidents. Many leaders, activists, and innocent individuals from the Baloch community have suffered a similar fate. The delegation also highlighted the cases of Zakir Majeed Baloch, Ghafoor Baloch, Zahid Baloch, Shabir Baloch, Rashid Hussain, and numerous others who have gone forcibly missing in alarming circumstances. The families of these missing persons continue to live in anguish, desperate for answers and justice.

International attention has been drawn to the enforced disappearances in Balochistan, with organizations such as Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and the United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances expressing concern and urging the government to take immediate action. Unfortunately, these calls have gone unanswered, leaving the families of the missing persons in a state of despair.

The Baloch National Movement delegation strongly urged the British Prime Minister to prioritize these cases and ensure a thorough investigation is conducted to uncover the truth regarding the disappearances. The responsible individuals and entities must be held accountable for their actions. Additionally, they implored the Prime Minister to support and protect the families of the enforced disappearance persons, who have endured unimaginable pain and suffering for far too long.

Addressing the enforced disappearances in Balochistan and striving for justice would demonstrate the United Kingdom’s commitment to human rights, international conventions, and the well-being of the global community. It is crucial to take a decisive stance against these violations and work towards a future where every individual’s rights and dignity are respected.

The Baloch National Movement sincerely hopes that the British Prime Minister will take immediate action on this urgent matter and provide justice to the affected families. Their intervention can bring solace and restore faith in justice and human rights principles.

The delegation eagerly awaits a response from the Prime Minister and hopes that their plea for justice will be heard and acted upon promptly.
