According to the Baloch National Movement’s Human Rights Department Paank’s Monthly Report, 39 people forcibly disappeared from Balochistan in February 2023 while a man was tortured till death by the Pakistani army.
Among those who were forced disappearance are two women, named Mahal Baloch and Rashida Zehri, Rashida Zehri was released later, while Mahal Baloch is under the custody of the counter-terrorism department of the Police on false allegations.
The Pakistani army summoned Dad Baksh s/o Miskan to its camp and tortured him, leading to his death. He was a resident of Gishkaur, district Awaran.
On February, 13 forced disappearances were released after physical and mental torture.
Paank has featured Amiran Bibi on the cover page of its February report with Mahal Baloch and Rashida Zehri; the forcefully disappeared women by Pakistani forces. While Amiran Bibi was a woman, who was allegedly murdered by Pakistani government minister Abdul Rahman Khetran and made her body unidentified by acid. After recovering the bodies of the five people killed with Amiran Bibi, Abdul Rahman Khetran was arrested after intense public protests.
A statement issued by Paank said that in February, Pakistan intensified forced disappearances in Balochistan and targeted Baloch women. After making serious allegations, the CTD accepted the arrest of the forced missing Mahal Baloch.
The report says that for the past two decades, people have been detained and forcibly disappearing, forcibly disappearing citizens and torturing them without judicial action severely violates human rights. Pakistan’s government and powers are silent on what law they are being arrested and forcibly disappearing.
According to Paank, the Baloch organizations are identifying the humanitarian crisis in Balochistan but there is no hearing, which is why the Pakistani army is boldly violating the rights of the Baloch. If global and human rights organizations do not hold Pakistan accountable, then the human rights situation in Balochistan will gross the worst shape.
Paank has requested that United Nations and other institutions take practical actions to prevent Pakistani crimes in Balochistan.
