In its second report on the education situation in Balochistan The Department of Social Welfare of BNM disclosed that 19 schools were closed in two tehsils of Khuzdar district, Haurnaach and Naal, where some schools had been taken over by the Pakistani army and converted into military camps. 11 such schools had been identified where children could not get better education due to the non-provision of basic educational facilities.
According to the report, in Tehsil Haurnaach, Boys Primary School Thairukund, Primary School Baront, Primary School Chibb, Primary School killi Wali Khan, Primary School Dal, Primary School Jini, Primary School Nedudamb and Primary School Damb had been remained closed since last many years.
Apart from this, 11 schools in Haurnaach Tehsil also lack basic educational facilities, such as school benches and textbooks. Those such schools: High School Kahan, Primary School Kahan, Girls Primary School Kahan, Middle School Khan, Primary School Koli, Primary School Duda Bazar, Primary School Malazhi Chakli, Girls Primary School Chakli, Primary School Alam Khan and Primary School Sardari Bent.
The report tells that, in the same way, 11 schools in Union Council Kodah of Tehsil Nal of District Khuzdar have been taken over by the Pakistan Army and converted into military camps. While in some schools, students face difficulty taking classes due to the non-provision of facilities.
The report also highlights that educational activities are affected in Primary School Mazardan kowdask in Union Council Kodah, Code No. 03501, Primary School Ekal Kowdask, Primary School Kondi Kowdask Primary School Shohol Kowdask Code No. 13241, Primary School Chid Kowdasak, Code No. 03503, High School Kowdask (under Army control), Middle School Kodah, Primary School Anwarabad Kodah, Primary School Killi Qasim Khan Kodah and in Girls Primary School Killi Qasim Khan.
In the report of the Social Welfare Department of BNM, it is said that like other districts of Balochistan, Khuzdar is also severely affected by Pakistan’s neo-colonial policies. Atrocities, forced disappearances, torture, mutilated bodies and fake encounters by Pakistani forces have also made life miserable for the people of Khuzdar.
According to the report, if we look at the educational situation of Khuzdar, it reflects the germ situation like tehsils of the Awaran district. Due to the closure of schools, students are facing severe difficulties. A tragic situation has emerged in Balochistan, like the forced disappearance of students has created an atmosphere of fear and children are deprived of education in Balochistan.
