Münster, Germany: Participants in a demonstration by the Baloch National Movement have demanded that the international community take notice of Pakistan’s atrocities on Balochistan because the rights of the Baloch are equal to those of a common man.
Protests erupted in Münster, Germany, on Saturday in support of the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture and International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. And pamphlets were distributed in Germany, informing the locals about the current situation in Balochistan and the oppression and brutality in Balochistan on a daily basis. Demonstrators chanted slogans against enforced disappearances and appealed to international human rights organizations to take notice of Pakistan’s inhumane treatment in Balochistan as the rights of the Baloch are equal to those of a common man. Baloch Republican Party members also took part in the protest.
Addressing the demonstration, Asghar Ali, President of the German Chapter, said that Pakistan is starting a new era of oppression and violence in Balochistan every day. Today, the situation in Balochistan has reached such a stage that now the families of the enforced disappearances are also being tortured. A clear example of this is the beating of the daughters of Dr. Din Mohammad, the torture of the families of the disappeared by the Sindh police, and dragging them into a police van would prove that Pakistan would make the Balochs victims of more and more violence day by day.
Asghar Ali added that in the last two decades, Pakistan has forcibly disappeared thousands of Baloch political, social activists and people from all walks of life and they have been suffering inhumane torture in Pakistan’s prisons for years. Today marks the thirteenth anniversary of the forcible disappearance of Dr. Din Muhammad, who was forcibly disappeared by Pakistan’s intelligence agencies while on duty in Hornach. And her daughters have been stumbling on the highways of Pakistan for the last thirteen years to recover their father, but the irony is that now in thirteen years they have found nothing but despair.
Speaking on the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Vice President of Baloch National Movement Germany said that Pakistan and its army have a big hand in spreading drugs all over the world. With the spread of drugs around the world, major routes pass through Balochistan. The drug mafia in the Awaran area of Balochistan has the blessings of Pakistan. People in the villages of Balochistan are suffering from drug addiction. Today’s youth are suffering from various diseases due to excessive use of drugs. These include mental illness, depression and unemployment. Young people are the architects of the future of any nation. In Balochistan children are becoming addicted to drugs but the state of Pakistan is promoting its illicit drug trade to strengthen its colonial policy in order to paralyze the future of Balochistan. This is a well thought out conspiracy to maintain Pakistan’s colonial status in Balochistan. The people of Balochistan have already made many sacrifices against the years of oppression by Pakistan and Pakistan is pushing the Baloch nation towards destruction by promoting this drug.
Shar Hassan Baloch, joint secretary of the BNM Germany chapter, said that Pakistan had reached the limits of its oppression. The forcible disappearance and torture of Baloch women is an inhumane act and the world should speak out against this oppression and hold Pakistan accountable for the Baloch genocide.
In his address, BNM member Sadiq Saeed Baloch said that more than 40,000 Baloch have been forcibly disappeared in Balochistan. The mutilated bodies of thousands of Baloch have been dumped in the desert and this is continuing on a daily basis. From ordinary Baloch to Baloch students and women are being targeted. Security forces harass people in every village, street and educational institution without any reason. Finally, he appealed to human rights organizations and said that they Take notice of human rights violations in Balochistan, play your role in rescuing the forcibly disappeared Baloch and preventing the forcible disappearance of more people.
BRP leader in Germany Jalil Baloch said that the purpose of the program here today is to expose the inhumane violence perpetrated by Pakistan in Balochistan to the world. We are raising our voice against enforced disappearances in Balochistan. And we urge the world to become our voice in all the enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
Among the speakers were Badal Baloch, Iman Baloch, Bashir Baloch, Amjad Baloch and Ahmed Baloch who spoke on atrocities against Balochistan.
Finally, the President of BNM Germany Chapter Asghar thanked the participants in the protest.
He said that it was the responsibility of the Baloch Diaspora in Germany to unite against the Pakistani oppression in Balochistan and show Pakistani oppression to the civilized world.
