Baloch National Movement Chairman Khalil Baloch termed the proposal to set up a Pakistan Air Force airbase and subsequent land acquisition in Notaal area of Naseer Abad district of Balochistan as a deep military plan. He said that the state of Pakistan and its military establishment are rapidly implementing their policies to extend Pakistani occupation of Balochistan and turn it into a full-fledged military cantonment.
He said, recently the officials of Pakistan Air Force accompanied by Divisional Commissioner of Naseer Abad visited Notaal Area. The plan had been charted to grab thousands of acres of land for the construction of a new airbase for the Pakistan Air Force in Naseer Abad. The purpose of constructing the new airbase is to increase Pakistani barbarism while paving the way for the full use of air force against the Baloch nation, as previously jets had to cover long distances to reach different areas. “With the completion of the airbase in Naseer Abad, the air force can easily bomb any area in Balochistan.”
Chairman Khalil Baloch further said that in 2017, a Chinese military delegation accompanied by Pakistani military officials visited Jewani and started planning to convert Jewani into an air as well as a naval base. Jewani was later handed over to China so that China could keep an eye on other countries in the region for the completion and protection of its One Belt One Road project.
BNM Chairman remarked, “in Balochistan be it Naseer Abad or Jewani, the construction and completion of military bases would further increase Baloch genocide and exploitation. The people of these areas are forced to live a worst life in the 21st century. The so-called Sardars of Naseer Abad have become puppets of the state and are paving the way for making the lives of the people miserable. Pakistan’s construction of the air base not only occupies people’s ancestral lands but also sets the ground for further subjugation the populace in Naseer Abad. It also expands its air strike range on other areas across Balochistan.”
Chairman Khalil Baloch concluded his statement by saying that the state was pursuing its exploitative and colonial plans throughout Balochistan. Such plans and the Pakistani occupation could only be defeated through organized and sustained resistance.
