The spokesperson of the Baloch National Movement said in a statement that the Pakistani army had been conducting a devastating operation in the Keelkor area of Panjgur for the past several days. During these military aggression, the Pakistani army brutally raped about a dozen women. A girl’s father was shot dead for resisting. This incident of cruelty and brutality has taken place in the village of Nakshali Keelkor. The occupying forces have forced the majority of the population of Keelkor, including Shaheed Murad Mohammad Bazaar, to flee to Aidi, Janchop and Nakshali.
He said that Amir Murad, an 11-year-old boy, was raped by the Pakistani army a few weeks ago in Hoshap area adjacent to Keelkor. Last month, women were also sexually abused in Mashkay and their families were threatened to remain silent, but the news came from other sources. Numerous such incidents are happening but the oppressed people are reluctant to talk about it due to the oppression of the Pakistani army. In Awaran last month, Noorjan committed suicide after being asked to present his daughter at a military camp. In another incident, Gwahram son of Nadil was abducted by the Pakistani army on June 11 and four days later, on June 15, his family was called and asked to take Gwahram body. “Murder and sexual assault in custody have risen sharply.” Said he
He resumed that due to its location on the route of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, several military camps and cantonments have been set up in and around Keelkor. He maintained, “enforced disappearances, military operations and violence are commonplace. Now they have created rape bases. Incidents of keeping local women and children as sex slaves in these bases have begun to a daily routine.”
He reminded international community about the worsening situation of Balochistan: “We have been trying for many years to convince the international community that Pakistan should be shackled in Balochistan so that it does not repeat the history of Bangladesh here. Today, the history of Bangladesh has begun to repeat itself. This is being accelerated. In the first six months of this year, there have been numerous such incidents. Due to such evil practices from Pakistan Army many villagers have been forced to migrate from here.”
He appealed, “We call on the civilized world, the United Nations and the international community to bring Pakistan to justice for war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. The Baloch National Movement will launch an online campaign on social media against the Keelkor incident and Pakistani brutality with the hashtag #RapistArmyInBalochistan,, appealing to all activists to take part in the campaign.”
