Baloch leader Dr Allah Nizar has said that Pakistan’s allegations of foreign aid and terrorism against Baloch nationalists are baseless. “If we had foreign financial aid and military support, the situation would have been different. The situation changed when India provided assistance to Bangladesh,” he added.
In a series of tweets the gold-medalist doctor turned guerrilla leader said that they are fighting a war of principles, in accordance with international principles. “The United Nations and other international laws and norms give every nation the right to have a free homeland,” Dr Nizar said.
Baloch leader’s comments were in response to earlier press conference on Saturday by Pakistan’s foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Director General ISPR, Major General Babar Iftikhar. In the press conference, the Pakistani authorities released taped phone call conversations, presenting them as “irrefutable evidence” of India’s support to different militant outfits.
One of such phone conversation was purported as a phone call between an “Indian handler” and Dr Nizar. However, the “evidence” has turned into a laughing stock on social media as there is only sided conversation of a person trying to give guidance on Baloch internal politics and a very bleak voice of someone who is only repeating the word “ok”, time and again. The subtitles by DG ISPR claimed the later voice, only saying “ok”, was that of Dr Nizar. However, journalists and analysts familiar with Dr Nizar’/ voice declared the evidence as completely fabricated.
In response to the press conference, Baloch leader Dr Nizar said: “If we had foreign financial aid and military support, the situation would have been different. The situation changed when India provided assistance to Bangladesh. In this war of liberation, we have defeated Pakistan with the help of the Baloch nation.”
He added: “Pakistani Foreign Minister and DG ISPR must be delirious or have lost their senses for spreading such lies. This is merely black propaganda. Yet as a nation we have the right to seek help from any country, be it India, the United Kingdom, or any other.”
“The Pakistani Foreign Minister and the ISPR are using such tactics to boost the morale of their army and mislead the masses. Gilani (former Pakistani Prime Minister) also tried this tactic in Sharm El-Sheikh. Rehman Malik (former Pakistani Interior Minister) used to say the same things. But time and circumstances have proven them wrong,” the Baloch leader said
Commenting on Pakistan’s allegation of Indian aid, the Baloch leader said: “they claim that three helicopters have brought military aid to us. But, from where? If it was true then Balochistan would have long been free like Bangladesh.”
In the press conference DG ISPR also alleged that India has formed multiple units of militants to target the security apparatus around China Pakistan Economic Corridor, a flagship multi-billion Chinese project. Dr Nizar commenting on the allegation said: “When DG ISPR talks about the security of CPEC, it simply means the genocide of Baloch for their development. Amnesty International’s recent report on human rights violations by Pakistan has further worsened Pakistan’s position on human rights.”
Dr Nizar claimed that Pakistan itself is promoting terrorism by supporting religious terrorists and said: “Pakistan is consistently on the FATF’s gray list for supporting terrorists. And we are facing those terrorists as a nation. They have attacked us in the form of Lashkar-e-Khorasan, and others. Pakistan’s military camps are their sanctuaries.
