(Daily Sangar) Mr Yahya A. S. Alzaid, the Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to China told Emittealyom that UEA considers China’s investment in Gwadar port as a “a clear indication of negative move by the old partner”.
As reported the Ambassador said: “We are still expecting china to revise its plan to invest in the Pakistan’s Gwadar port.
The ambassador also implicitly warned the Chinese officials to be beware of what he called “the possibility of the UAE’s reconsidering of Taiwan’s announcement” and said: “To justify their acts the Chinese friends consider their measure as related to Pakistan’s interior affairs. UAE refused to recognize the Republic of Taiwan to avoid tensions and we don’t like to be forced to reconsider our position towards Taiwan.”
“UAE expects Chinese officials to refrain from taking any provocative measure against their friend countries”, the ambassador said. “The great investment in a poor country such as Pakistan can never be a suitable replacement for trading with UAE and we anticipate that the Chinese officials eventually withdraw from their decision.”
